(2b) Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person. (2c) What does he look like? He's of medium build. Just meet him in front of the cinema first. Tony: Oh, but I don't know him. What does he look like? Mike: Well, he has brown hair and wears glasses. Tony: OK. Is he tall or short? Mike: He isn't tall or short. He's of medium height. Tony: OK, sure. See you later then. 1. What does he look like? 他看上去什么样子？ look like表示“看起来像……”在这里注意一下和be like的区别： look like指的是“外观上像”的意思 be like则是指“品德，相貌”等，例如： What is he like? 他是个什么样的人？ 2. He's really tall. tall与high high和tall都有“高”的意思。 1）tall指身材的高度，一般用于人和动物，它的反义词是short。如： Li Ping is taller than Wei Fang. 李平比魏芳个子高。 2）high一般表示物体的高度，它的反义词是low。如： Can you see the high wall? 你能看见那堵高墙吗？ The big tree is about ten metres high. 那棵大树约有十米高。 3）tall与high都可用来指tree，building，tower（塔）等的高度，但指mountain时，只能用high。 3. Sally is thin and of medium height. thin为形容词，可表示“瘦的”，其反义词是fat“胖的”。也可以表示“薄的”，其反义词为thick“厚的”。如： She looks very thin and weak. 她看上去很瘦，而且虚弱。 There is a thin book on the desk. 课桌上有一本很薄的书。 4. We're meeting at seven, right? 我们七点见，对吗？ 1）meet相当于汉语中的“集合；见面；碰头；聚集”。如： Let's meet at the station. 咱们在车站见面吧。 I happened to meet him in the theatre. 我正巧在剧院遇见他。 2）right表示“对吗；是吧”，用来对此前陈述内容进行确认或核实。全句为Is it right?口语中常用不完整的句子表达思想。 Grammar 如何描述相貌 1、常用来描述人物相貌的词语： height: tall, short, of medium height build: thin, heavy, of medium build hair: short, long, straight, curly, blonde, black, brown ... 2、常用来描述人物相貌的句型： ①主语+is/are+tall/short/thin/heavy/good-looking/…(+with…) ②主语+has/have+long/short+curly/straight+black/brown/blonde+hair. ③主语+is/are+of medium height/build. ④主语+wear(s)+衣服/glasses.
