Poems have beats.They may rhyme or may not rhyme-but they have to have rhythms.
This beat is not always obvious,but it's usually there.

recite v.背诵；接连说出，叙述（后直接跟名词）
Those who can't recite the text must stay behind.
不会背课文的必须留下来。
Usually we recite all in mind to our mothers when returning home from outside.

这是一个主从复合句，there are many reasons是主句,
why people write poems 是一个定语从句，修饰reasons，表示某件事情的原因。
Why可以用for which来代替。
在常用句型The reason why...is that...中，why引导定语从句，that引导表语从句，说明the reason的具体内容，表示“...的原因是...”
